Now you may be thinking of someone sitting legs crossed with their hands on their knees, fingers touching, looking all peaceful and blessed out. We kind of have this mental image of what meditation looks like. And that certainly is ONE way to do it.

But meditation (at least the way I think of it) is more about focusing our attention on something specific. Some people focus on their breath, or a word, or a mantra. There are so many different ways to meditate. But they all have the same effect of helping us to stop that mental chatter, reconnect with our bodies, and RELAX! And who doesn’t want THAT?

One thing I know for sure is that knowing what to do and doing it are two entirely separate animals. While I love meditating, I’m much more likely to do it if being led through it rather than doing it on my own.
